Many tourists consider Belgium a paradise for shoppers. You can buy things 24-hours a day and 7 days a week. The shops are open from 10.00 till 18.00. Markets are also a good place to find regional products and traditional foods. From early December the Christmas markets (particularly in Bruges, Brussels, Liege and Antwerp) sell lots of local foods.

Want to buy something special, for example antiques – visit the market on place du Grand Sablon. There is a great choice of different things, at the same time you can always score a bargain, especially at the weekend. You won't be mistaken if you decide to buy handmade chocolates, filled with various fresh-cream flavors. The most popular Belgian sweets are made by Wittamer, Nihoul, Leonidas, and Neuhaus, they are available in various stores all over Belgium. Lace is another souveniour, which can be brought from Belgium. There are two kinds of Belgian lace, both of which you can buy. For art connoisseur - exquisitely handmade pieces, for the rest - machine-made stuff. Antwerp's Diamond Quarter is a good place to buy diamonds. So, in Belgium you can buy whatever you want.
